Hockley
Village is an area of Nottingham that we all should know and
love. Often described as the Soho of Nottingham, Hockley Village
has wide appeal and is full of charm.
Over the years it
has changed significantly. In the 13th Century it was referred
to as Walker Gate - derived from the practice of walking upon
cloth to soften it after weaving - and since this era there
has been a mercantile presence. To learn more about the History

After a rebranding
exercise in 2004 the old Hockley as we knew it was renamed Hockley
Village and remains the epicentre for stylish, independent shops.
It is a completely original part of the city that attracts a
wide range of individuals from different cultures and backgrounds
be they discerning shoppers, gourmands or the cultural cognoscenti.
Hockley Village has
lots to offer everyone, for a full guide of things to do in
