Stage Three will start
on Monday 20th November and is expected to be complete by late
January.
As you may be aware
Nottingham City Council is investing £400,000 of European
and Central Government funding in the Hockley area to create
a new public square and to make the area better for pedestrians
to access.
We will soon be able
to begin stage three of the five stage project - the creation
of the new square itself. Each stage of the project will be
fully complete before we move on to the next.
Stage Three:
Goose Gate between the junctions of Broad Street and Heathcote
Street
Monday 20th November until late January
This stage of the scheme will take place between the junctions
of Broad Street and Heathcote Street on Goose Gate from Monday
20th November and is expected to be completed in late January.
We are pleased to
inform you that this will not affect access for motorists or
pedestrians. All roads in the area will be accessible throughout
the third stage of the works and access to shops will always
be maintained, as work in front of shops will take place outside
of trading hours. Shop owners will be individually asked when
they would prefer work outside their premises to take place.
End of temporary
restrictions after the completion of Stage Two
From Monday 20th November, when stage two of the project will
be complete, the junction of Carlton Street, Broad Street and
Stoney Street will be re-opened and the temporary parking suspensions
on Broad Street will be lifted.
The one-way system
on Old Lenton Street will return to normal so th it provides
access for traffic from Broad Street into George Street.
If you would
like any further information about the works taking place, please
